Over 120 students turned out last night to to share and learn about the YSE Summer Experience requirement, ENV 006. It was an inspiring evening of community and connection around the ultimate common purpose of creating planetary climate, sustainability and environmental solutions.
15 returning student volunteers representing the four YSE master degree programs offered flash presentations on their summer experience, including natural and social science research internationally and domestically, and internships and jobs in think tanks, conservation NGOs, U.S. federal agencies, and with corporate sustainability teams in finance, consumer products, and tech. Their quick overviews provided a window into possibilities, timelines, strategies, funding, experiences on the ground, and main take-aways to share with incoming students about to embark on their ENV 006 planning. Perhaps more importantly, the event served to expand everybody’s peer network.
