CPD is excited to welcome Sulaiman Jenkins to the team as Associate Director managing employer engagement and all things related to the summer experience, ENV 006. He brings 2+ decades in education, along with experience in program management, career advising, networking, interviewing strategies, resume building, leadership training, and human resource administration. He is excited to join the CPD team and hopes to bring a level of expertise and experience that will help maximize YSE students’ potential as they enter the workforce.
Sulaiman holds an M.A. degree in TESOL and a B.A. in Law Jurisprudence and Social Thought, has written several academic articles related to social justice in language teaching, and is the author of Life is Raw: The Story of a Reformed Outlaw, a collaborative memoir with Mutah Beale (Napoleon), a close friend and mentee of the late Tupac Shakur.
Prior to joining Yale, he worked as a Director at Johns Hopkins’ Institute for NanoBioTechnology, managing several federally funded research programs as well as a Master’s Co-Op program. He spent many years teaching in Saudi Arabia, speaks Arabic and Spanish, and is an animal lover who says “I would love to study big cats when I grow up!”
