Alumni panels, spring 2025: Conversations with international alums on the work they do, career journeys, and job search strategies. Please click on the link to view each recorded session.
Networking tips:
Networking (when done well) is a fancy word for the process and effort of building a meaningful relationship with a professional who is in your area of work, directly or indirectly.
When you reach out to alums who were on these panels via LinkedIn, please, always, add a note. Mention that you are at YSE, have reviewed the specific recording from the YSE CPD sessions, and would like to connect. Once they connect, before you set up a meeting to talk with them, please do your prep to make sure you are making the best use of their time, and yours.
As you will hear from the panelists below, when students reach out with a clear plan for the meeting, clarity of their ask, and are mindful of the difference between building a relationship and having a transactional approach, they feel more motivated to help because they are given a map of where you would like to go, what your skills are, what type of work you are interested in, and what value add you are bringing to the conversation. Put in the time to prep before your conversations so everyone feels it was worth their time.
