Employment Resources on LinkedIn

Hello YSE Class of 2025!  All of us at CPD have heard the call for more job-searching help in this difficult time for the environmental community.  In a recent conversation, a student suggested that the details of how to use LinkedIn tools might be news to some.  With that in mind, here are some ideas:

1. Setting up LinkedIn alerts

Setting up LinkedIn job alerts that reflect your personal search categories is incredibly helpful in narrowing down the list of currently available jobs that you might want to apply for.  For detailed info on how to do it, please watch a video on it here .

2. Finding and connecting with YSE and Yale alumni via LinkedIn

YSE, Yale University, and any higher education institutional LinkedIn page offers easy access to alumni profiles through the “Alumni” menu tab. Easily sort by location, employer, key words, dates, and subject matter interests to find alumni you might want to connect with.  You can get started with YSE Alumni here .  Access Yale University alumni here.

3. Free career and job search skills videos via LinkedIn Learning

The hundreds of high quality video trainings through LinkedIn Learning are free to all YSE students and are incredibly underutilized.  Use them for immediate help with interview prep, resumes, cover letters, job search, networking, salary negotiation, LinkedIn profiles, and more.  Get started here.

4. Additional help for using LinkedIn to greatest advantage

Jeremy Schifeling gives away for free a lot of the tools and tactics that he teaches in his paid engagements, including combining AI with LinkedIn. Learn more.
