POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Project Associate will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects with diverse clients. This may include work with national and local non-profits, Tribes, state, county and other agency clients, corporations, water users and others working on water, watershed and natural resources management in the US West and beyond. The new Associate will also engage across a broad spectrum of subjects including water rights, water management, watershed health, natural resources economics, hydrology, climate and others. Specific assignments supporting AMP’s clients and work include:
· Background research and literature review
· Data QA/QC, including preparing, cleaning and organizing datasets
· Data analysis
· GIS mapping and analysis
· Report and memo writing for a variety of audiences to convey results of research and analysis
· Managing communications for new project proposals and marketing (e.g., RFP responses, email newsletters, LinkedIn, etc.)
· Working with AMP partners and senior staff to develop and communicate strategic advice to clients

QUALIFICATIONS
· BA/BS degree in a relevant field with 2-4 years of work experience or MA/MS degree in natural resources, water resources, environmental science, environmental economics or another relevant field
· Experience with self-directed research
· Ability to work with a remotely based team in a hybrid work setting
· Demonstrated interest in natural resource management, specifically related to water and watershed sustainability
· Excellent analytical skills and proven organizational ability
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
· GIS, data management software and/or programming desired, but not required
