INTERA Incorporated is seeking an entry-level to mid-level Groundwater Modeler position to join our office in Austin, TX, to support our work on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hanford Site in Washington State. Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support on flow and transport modeling projects under the direction of INTERA’s senior technical staff. The tasks and responsibilities of this position include: Compiling, synthesizing, and analyzing data to develop conceptual site and numerical modelsPerforming numerical flow and transport modeling of the subsurfaceCreating inputs to and evaluating outputs from groundwater modelsPreparing reports and technical presentations for clients, regulators, and other stakeholdersImplementing and complying with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures
Required Qualifications
MS or MA in Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or a closely related field with an emphasis on groundwater hydrology and/or groundwater modeling
Solid foundational knowledge of physical hydrogeology
Solid foundational knowledge of numerical methods, MODFLOW codes, computer programming, and GIS software
Programming experience with Python
Preferred Qualifications
2-8 years of applicable experience with a primary emphasis on quantitative hydrogeology and/or groundwater modeling
